An interesting debate going on about the CIA festival. This is an alternative jazz festival running concurrent with
the IAJE festival. Personally, I had a really fun night on Thursday as a listener and performer. I find both events to
be exciting and important. One obviously, quite larger than the other. So glad we are not all the same. What a dull day that would make.

If you are in Toronto, please come and hear my Horn Band w/ Lina Allemano and Quinsin Nachoff; tonight at the Oasis
Club 294 college St., just west of Spadina. We go on between 1130pm and midnight. Fun hang last night with IAJE
"off-grounds" events. Caught Kenny Kirkwoods band and pianists John Stech and DD Jackson at the Justin Time schmooze.
Funny though, trying to listen to music while people yak yak away. Certain types of music don't work in bar situations.

Susan Musgrave is a great poet. I guess the rest of the world knows this already but, I am just discovering it for
myself. I picked up an Anthology of her work and have already noticed and enjoyed the progression in her life as a
poet. I think I saw her read years ago but I am not sure....so many poets each year at the Scream In High Park that the
readings start to all become one in my memory. (no matter how good)

Very exciting running around my neighbourhood on College St. and spreading the word about the avant-Jazz fest that
takes place this week (during the IAJE) at the Oasis Club on College St. Glen Hall, the festivals organizer dropped off
some posters so I got inspired, hit the hood and tried out then new Falafel joint too. Mmmmmm....cheap and I heard
it is open until 2am!!! Details about festival at glenhall.com (see events page)
